A global portrait of agriculture and the main concerns at a planetary scale and the international flows that concern Canada. Whether in terms of imports and exports or population movements, the various monopolies and the availability of resources all contribute to Canada's important role in the global agricultural organization. A projection of climate change and the evolution of the fertile nature of soils allows us to measure the magnitude of the impacts on production and the importance of the future adaptability of agriculture.
At the scale of the province of Quebec: the functioning and limitations of agriculture on the territory as well as its environmental implications. The analysis of the data allowed us to target certain types of crops that are more damaging, while establishing their importance to the local economy. Climate limitations and dependencies on exports and imports lock the province into an environmentally damaging economic model.
Agriculture in Abitibi-Témiscamingue: a spatial and qualitative portrait of local agriculture. By establishing the evolutionary path of this economy in the region, the research has made it possible to relate the profile of the agricultural population as well as the main issues in order to understand the problems of the region's agricultural future.
Historical tour detailing the region's agricultural past, from the arrival of settlers to the present day. Research explains the development of the land, settlement policies, and the stages of the development of an organized agricultural system, including the important cooperative past. The chronologically organized information helps to explain the current social and agricultural functional pattern.
Analysis of agriculture in the Industry 4.0 theme: development of new technologies in the agricultural environment. The data allowed us to understand the factors that influenced the adoption of different technologies on the Abitibi-Témiscamingue territory as well as the transformation of the agri-food industry following the changes caused by their implementation.
